LUMS and Oxford Pakistan Programme Partner to Launch Faculty Exchange Initiative
LUMS is delighted to announce its partnership with the Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP) to establish the OPP-LUMS Faculty Exchange Initiative. This initiative will bring an Oxford University scholar to LUMS annually, fostering academic exchange and advancing collaborative research.
This was formalised through an MoU on December 24, signed by Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, and Dr. Talha Pirzada, Co-founder and Development Lead of OPP. Also present at the ceremony was Ms. Minahil Saqib, Outreach Lead at OPP.
The programme, generously funded by Syed Babar Ali, aims to strengthen ties between the two institutions and create opportunities for mutual growth in research and education. The visiting academic, designated as the ‘Syed Babar Ali-OPP Visiting Fellow,’ will deliver lectures, engage with students and faculty, and explore potential academic collaborations.
In its initial phase, the initiative will focus on scholars from Lady Margaret Hall at Oxford University. In subsequent years, the programme will expand to include scholars from other Oxford colleges and departments.
This initiative builds on the longstanding relationship between LUMS and OPP, and highlights a shared commitment to advancing academic exchange and driving research innovation.
